Default Glue for hood repairs

OK - usual story wear spots in roof, done search - found most of solution.

Have located some hood material to make patches and some felt for elbow wrapping. Question is what adhesive can be used to attach patch to existing roof? USA mentions Shoo-Glue with some limited success - cannot find in the UK. Have been advised is some sort of neoprene glue but name/details are not coming up on search. Can someone assist please - or is this any good?

Just don't use Halfords stuff that they supply specifically for the purpose of repairing soft tops. It's nice and black when wet, so blends in nicely. Then it dries with horrible white patches.

I have it on good authority that there will be a nice shiny new mohair soft top for auction at the Euromeet.

If you can wait that long and have a deep enough pocket you could bag yourself a bargain.

Seem to remember somebody on here talking about wetsuit glue? There was a link on his post. I've got a couple of small tears in mine and thats what I was going to try. Either that or glue from a bike puncture repair kit? That must be flexible and water proff.

If it's the wear on the inside of the hood from a sharp elbow on the hood frame, a previous thread on here recommended self adhesive felt from a craft shop.

I have used this, after carefully filing the sharp edge away, and it works a treat!

Yeah i think i said roughly what the thing was called, but i cant remember exactly neoprone or something

BTW alot of glues, bike repair kits etc dont work/stick well - then end up coming off

I just bought a new roof

Any joy with the search? I had another go last night and no success with a name.

Cheers
