Maybe the shape of the vinyl at the front could be changed to emulate he Gulf stripe? Kind of spreads back out a bit to take in the lines of the 'mouth'.

Would that work better?

I still don't understand why you would go to a body shop, get the bonnet painted perfect and then cover it in vinyl to make it look cheap?

Weird.
