Default Getting ones hands dirty

I'm 31 years old.
I'm a bloke
I have never changed the oil on a car.

That's quite sad isnt it.

I have a lot of oil.
I have an oil filter.
I have read https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=70348
I need a washer for the bolt thing
I need to get the car off the ground safely. Dude in flat upstairs has ramps... Should fit.

Hmm. I think this weekend Im going to change the oil on my car.

Yikes!!!

Edit.. oh... I'm going to need a wench am I not.. bummer. how much are they?

Go for it! Its a sense of achievement

I would do it on the flat though, as the oil wont all pour out. You can get a hand under there to drain it.

Fill it up on the flat too!

Dont make the mistake of draining, then deciging you need it on the flat, so startup and drive off the ramps it ahs been done!

Get the filter on tight - they have been known to pop off!

Don't do it on ramps. You won't get it all out properly.
Have a think about what you are going to catch it in!
Run it up to warm first helps get it ALL out!
Make sure you torque up the filter properly, owners on here have had cars torch themselves from oil filters coming off!
You need 4.8 litres of oil, have you got enough!

Mikey, you have taken on my thought process

Washer - I do personally. Its a crush type from memory. Sure it doesnt hurt but I change it for the cost.

Don't forget to put the sump plug back in before filling it back up with oil

It has been forgotten before (not by me)

Our local tip is super good on the recycling, they do everything therefore assume they do oil but I will need to check first.

Edit - yep they do oil, look at that list - very impressive
