Default Geometry

Hi,

I'm not sure if the geometry is out on my 04 S. Inner front tyres are a bit worn and the car seems to twitch to the side slightly when changing gear under heavy (ish) acceleration.

I thought I was causing the twitch with some dodgy steering wheel movements at first, but after reading other threads, it looks like the car needs a geo check.

Does anyone know of a decent place to get it checked, or is it better to be done by a main Honda dealer? I live in Wakefield, so somewhere in the Wakey or Leeds area would be great.

Any info would be appreciated...

Cheers,

Si.

The only place people will recommend on this site is www.cofg.co.uk

Center of Gravity

I have never been myself but I am booked in on the 14th July.

Book yourself in but also check your tyres. Check the presure, the sizes and the tread. Make sure you have the same tyres on the same axis and you should be ok till your visit to Center of Gravity.

Now that the issue has been brought up, I was wondering if any of you gentlemen could confirm that the UK geometry settings for MY99-03 in the FAQ can be applied to MY 03 s2k that has swapped wheels to 04 OEM (17in).

Thanks in advance.

A twitch during change in throttle is often tyre pressure differences.
It took a puncture for me to find that out

I have just had mine MoT'd and whilst up on the ramp I discovered my fronts are worn on the inner edges of the tyres. I haven't noticed any obvious pulling when driving.
Am I to assume that I also need a trip to cofg.co.uk, and then another to mytyres.co.uk........?
Or is it worth doing the girlie thing and taking it back to the dealer before the extended warranty runs out on 6 July (I doubt that I will get very far with that one, but is it worth a try?)

Tyre wear in the inside edge of the fronts and the rears is normal - providing it is the same from side to side.
Get some new tyres on and go see Chris @ CG

Or even better, go to Chris first and then get new tyres.

Chris can read your tyres to help find out whats wrong with your car.

definately check the typre pressures first, I had a twitch the other day, every time I changed gear and found a low rear tyre was the fault.
Having a screw in it didnt help either !!
That reminds me the local honda dealers were really nice (Letchworth) and took my car in at 5pm and charged me
