No AP2 in the UK

The post 04 box has carbon syncromesh and is a lot smoother/lighter.

Proably cheaper in the long run to get a new wife if that's what happens now lol

Seriously though, how do you know for sure it's FUBAR?

when the wife got home with the car the it was fine ..... bloody woman she had grinded the gears between 2nd and 3rd and must have knocked the syncro out abit so she paniicked and rang me saying the box was making a grinding sound. im just back in the car and its fine .... it would hardly sit at 135mph if the gearbox was shot

I hope she's being nice to you to make up for the worry she's caused.

...errr...it would if it was the second gear synchro or a selector fork that was damaged....

What if the wife had messed with the vehicle speed sensor.....

It may have only been 35....

Not the brightest move to test a potentially dodgy gearbox by driving at that sort of speed. If it had been damaged with bits of metal floating around in it you run the risk of it seizing. Do you want a seized transmission at that sort of speed?

Nor is it the brightest move to boast about driving at those sort of speeds on a public forum.
