gearbox feels rubbish when cold
Has anybody experienced this, if so what causes it? When my car is cold I have trouble pushing it into reverse and 1st gear from a stand still. It never crunches but it just very difficult to find the gear and push in. Once the car is warmer it seems to be better. All other gears are fine. I'm sure it wasn't so bad a couple months ago when I bought it. Also the clutch bite is fairly close to the floor. Anything related to this?
Any help would be great. Thanks.

Sound like a problem with the clutch hydrolics, first stop would be to change the clutch fluid, if that cures it then the problem returns start looking for leaks. The clutch bite point on an S is usualy very high.

Bite close to the floor is unusual.
Check your clutch fluid reservoir (the little one to the right of the brake master cylinder) is it full? If not, sounds like you either need new fluid, or a replacement clutch master cylinder.

Ok thanks chaps. Great replies. I'll check it out tomorrow evening. I wouldnt be damaging the gearbox forcing it in like I have been the last two weeks would I?

I wouldn't recomend it! If you MUST drive the car wait till the engine is properly warmed up so the tickover is lower, also pump the clutch a few times before selecting 1st or reverse. Also if it feels OK going into 2nd at standstill try pulling away in it.

I followed this: Clutch Fluid Change The easy way the other day (Scroll down to Billman's 1st post) and it might be a good place to start for you. I wasn't convinced that it would make a difference without a proper bleed, it made my pedal squeaky for a few presses and I had no change in clutch feel but it might help to get some fresh fluid in there in your case.

My gearbox was very similar, so I performed the following steps;
Dropped the fluid and switched to Redline MTL.
Replaced clutch fluid.
Adjusted the clutch pedal slack to remove the play at the top of the pedal.
This improved this considerably. However, the S2000 box is quite notchy from cold as standard, so I always double de-clutch from 1st to 3rd until the gearbox has warmed up. That way I get a nice smooth shift from cold to warm.
