Gearbox and diff oil

Gearbox and diff oil
Search seems to be FUBAR again so I've resorted to posting this
27K service is looming in a month or two so I'm planning ahead and looking to source my own gearbox and diff oil. I'd rather not leave it to my distinctly-average local dealer to get it right
Not having had to attend to this before, I've searched the site via Google looking for recommendations (with limited success) and found that our US brethren seem to recommend Mobil 1 or Redline 75W-90 for the diff and Redline MT-90/MTL (there appears to be a difference of opinion over which is better) or Castrol SMX-S for the gearbox.
Is that consistent with the perceived UK wisdom? It's an 04, if that makes any difference (since I've seen suggestions that the different synchros in the 04 may mean that a different gearbox oil is required).
(I feel like a right n00b having to post this but it can't be helped!)

i got redline for the diff 75W-90
and MTL for the transmission... I was not happy with results either.
transmission seems alot more notchy after putting redline in
I did at first get MT-90, but took this back as believe this is the wrong stuff.

I am using Honda MTF Type II for the GB and Silkolene BOA for the Diff that I change every year:

Castrol EPX 70-90 is also good and can be bought at Hellfrauds.
Here is a thread to keep you going until tonight.

I am very happy with the Honda GB oil but make sure they have the correct one as I have listed above.
