Default Gear Change

Hi all just interested in your thoughts on this, from 1st to 2nd gear when Im in a hurry is extremely difficult, lots of graunching and revving, sounds terrible. Driving normally its not to bad, 2nd is always a bit notchy, especially when cold the rest of the gears seem ok, I would say they were rifle like and ok. Clutch -- Gearbox -- Synchro, what do you think Guys.

Don't hurry gear changes when it's cold.

Ah technique? Im sure 1st to 2nd is straight down, thanks for your help

the temperature guage has three bars when this happens so I presume the engine is warm!

It's not actually

2nd is down and slightly to the left

Change gear slower

Just because the engine is warm, it doesn't mean the gearbox is

When changing from 1st to 2nd when it's cold I find allowing it to flop in to neutral between the gates helps no end.

I sometimes have a problem with 3rd to 4th in as much as it doesn't quite make it.

This is my technique and not the car.

Could try changing the oil, that'll make it a bit smoother.

The temp gauge has 3 bars very quickly and is not a true indication the car is warm.

Does the car do it when you have been driving for 20mins+?
