Fuel suction sock
So my car has nearly covered 127k miles, before I fitted the supercharger I had to replace the fuel pump with a walbro one as a requirement for the SC.
The suction filter was a little dirty and i didn't have one at the time , at the time i asked the dealer to send me one but they sent the whole fuel filter (which is technically correct so good on them ).
The fuel filter and fuel suction sock are different, they are often referred to as the same thing which is incorrect.
I cant say when it was last changed (if ever) however i recommend changing it at least once during the car life esp if you've reached the 80k+ IMO, suffice to say I'm happy now I changed it even though the parcel shelf is the most difficult part to mess about with .
To be fair the suction suck looks worse than it actually is.
Access to pump itself - ignore wires.
Old suction sock present
Old sock, discoloured l'm unsure if this is actually dirty, fuel tank seems clean as a whistle.
New vs Old
This circled in red is a little git to get on and important.
