They had a sketch about a 1/2p button on the till on NTNON years ago.

When it costs best part of a ton to tank up, I don't care about 2p.

I've had the mystery penny added in the past, but now I either fill up completely or add X number of litres for a journey so don't really notice the pence figure.

The second decimal point is irrelevant these days anyway

I will be using the option of choice in future and avoiding the two stations in question. But it is quite interesting the number of people who have never been able to fill to a full pound and say it always goes over.

I always fill to the nearest 99p mark. Well shops do it to convince us stuff is cheaper than it really is, so I like to think it works with fuel too.

I wait till the pump has stopped before going to the kiosk and take note of the price, if it goes up before you pay calmly walk back to the pump and check before re-joining at the back of the queue and tell them of their mistake and insist they go and check it. By the time they've gone through that palaver there will be a nice bunch of pissed off customers ready to moan at them. If you also take the time to report them to the local trading standards office (photo of pump and copy of the receipt) they will fall on them like a ton of bricks.

As for a few quid a day, a motorway services easily can process 5000 customers in 24Hrs so that £50 a day in their pockets a 1p a go.

Amazing they'd risk their license for the sake of £40-50 a day, even at the busy garages. They probably make more than that on Mars bars..

You do all this for 2p? What would you do for £50!?

My local Shell actually keeps a jar of pennies and 2p's to the side for people who go just over!

They only do it if you ask but I saw someone kicking off in there once because the jar had run out!

Wrexham for you.....
Haha one opposite Newi is great

just never go there and bang on midnight, if you fill up just a minute before midnight you have to wait for 15 minutes or so whilst the computer reboots itself?!
Newi?1 It was back in the day when I went. Glyndwr University now!

To the OP, yep, happened a good few times to me.

Haha, I just refer to it as Newi as I spent and still do spend a lot of time in Wrexham that's where I used to live
