tank is 50l. And you can always do another 40 motorway miles after the light has come on. Just don't then park on a hill and expect the engine to start.

There was a thread way back in the early days when I wer t'lad ( ) asking how low people had let their tank get before refilling.

I think dog biscuit was the clear winner, having once managed to put over 49 litres of fuel in before the pump clicked!

Oh, I've done a 49l fill up once. Got 325 miles out of the tank. Never again though. Brown trousers time.

I've done a 49.5 litre .. drove around for ages last new years eve last year looking for petrol, found none, went to a mates house, parked on a hill, got drunk, walked home.

Next day my mate couldn't start my car to drive it home. He then had to drive for ages on New Years morning to get a jerry can, and then fill it with a litre, and then get the car to the petrol station to fill it, and then bring it to mine.

I still feel guilty

And after the charger I'm lucky to get near 200 miles to a tank ..

I always keep a full fuel can in the boot ready for use due to the lack of reliability of the gauge... Haven't had to use it yet though :touchwood:

Roadside assistance, or failing that Mark Turner, are my backups.
