I think it is very relevant. If you're commuting on the motorway, you're sitting at the same speed, not accelerating, so the car becomes not about it's 0-60 or 9k rev limit, and becomes basically about it's MPG. It's nice to know it can do both, I mean anyone who sits on the motorway constantly accelerating is an idiot, likewise anyone who sits on it doing illegal speeds constantly is just asking for trouble with all the speed cameras around!

Haha drive it properly! It's one of the cars that I do 1 on 1 tuition in all around England lol, there is no car driven more properly! - see www.schoolofspeed.co.uk. I've seen a few pictures of a Ginetta going up in flames from Oulton today, looked nasty! Good day apart from that?

Oops! Looks like I ruined my chance of a discount then Kris!

No offence intended, mpg threads always draw me in, I can't resist.

Didn't see the Ginetta flames, but was gladly risking tinnitus at Lodge listening to the Porkas banging, Z4s screaming & the SLS's rattling my chest, sweet music!

Anyone who hasn't felt the sting of 145 pence a litre is earning too much money or drives that car too little.

Or has another car to ignore the MPG of

My S2k did 35mpg coming back from Edinburgh - roof down the whole way across the A701 and for the steady 70mph run on the motorway, wasn't in any form of rush or in need of showing everyone around me that I have a sports car.

Edit: Although that said, 70mph gave me plenty of time to sit and ponder what MPG I was doing

Everyone draws the line somewhere.

Would you still have an S2000 if it did 1mpg? (or 5, 10, 15, 20, etc...you'd draw the line somewhere wouldn't you?)

Well it wouldn't be as S2000 then would it? (or it would have a fueling problem). It would be say a Ford GT or a Bentley or a roller etc.

Point being if you can't afford to fuel (insure, tax, service or buy parts) it, then rather than complain about it get shot.

Personally I'm an old git who has far too much spare cash, and dosn't give a t*ss what it costs to fuel and is not prepared to worry about it.

If I couldn't afford to run it then guess what..... I'd have bought the wrong car.
