I was worried in the same way last month as the missus was only getting about 20 to the gallon and was thinking something expensive was going wrong but went to the cotswolds at the weekend and 130miles on the motorway and then about 200 of open topped driving pleasure revealed consumption of 35mpg after a few calcs at the pumps! Very impressed and that was even including a quite a lot of VTec work. I think they really suffer from booting them and town driving as the missus crosses Notts in both rush hours each day.
Must recommened the Cotwolds for driving scenery, beautiful and the roads were all but empty most of the time, watch out for sheep tho!!!!!!

Aye, got a Hyper-Charger on there

Nah, work out 26 MPG, when I usually get 21-22.

Just back from touring in Switzerland & Italy. After 2,095 miles of spirited driving and dozens of difficult passes my S returned 32.28MPG.

On long runs in the UK I get 320 miles to the tank, but start looking for SUL after about 280 miles.

With just over 55,000 miles from new, and lots of mileage in the Hertfordshire country lanes, the average consumption is 31.08. (And yes, although not a nerd, I have kept records since I bought the car!)

A 2001, 45000 miles on the clock and with a mixture of motorways, town and B roads my Rocket Red VTEC screaming bad boy lovely is returning 32.5 on Shells V-Power!!

My other car which is a VW GTi ED30 is - on the same run - returning 33.5mpg.

Not bad in my opinion.

Do you actually use VTEC then?
