I wish that some of the people who think that the calliper is the weakest part of the brake system or want a big brake kit would try some proper uprated pads.

If you want the big brake kit for looks then fair enough, but you can significantly improve the braking performance on road or track by changing the brake pads to some proper performance pads.

Try some Dixcel type Z pads for example. Much higher friction coefficient and the people who use them on track haven't managed to make them fade.

The callipers are not the weakest part of the system. The pads are.
Sorry mate, I should of made my self more clear.

What I should of said was, the calipers arn't suitable for this country's climate, as they corrode and fail.

Your right in the fact you can improve them for stopping power, but Id personally change to a big brake kit, to kill 2 birds with one stone.

I hope this is clearer.

Is an aftermarket BBK more suited to our climate? Seems unlikely. Generally race-oriented parts aren't as durable for long term road use. I think I'd have more faith in Honda parts.

I agree with JD

There's a set of Spoon calipers for sale in the appropriate section of the forum
The S2000 calipers really arent the weakest part of the system.....

If you think this, buy this Endless/Mu setup. I'm 10000% in agreement with LOWER here. Id be willing to bet that this setup would be on a par with most big brake kits. I ran Project Mu disks and pads on my EK9 and they were AWESOME.

The S2000 calipers have the strength to easily lock the front wheels. Why would you want calipers with more strength to lock them easier?

The only reason I would change my calipers is to save unspring weight. Any other brake upgrades I would do to the disks and pads. The PADS and DISKS are 100% the weakest part of the S2000 brakes. The reason we upgrade these is to stop brake fade and stop disk warp.

Currently runing similar set up, Mu discs on front and Mu pads all round. Bags of progressive feely braking. So far only Goodwood track day with them on, but very pleased so far. Pads are mega dusty however and I doubt if fronts will last for long.

Hoping not to crack a disc as did with F2500 pads.

Have no experience of the Endless pads but agree the only reason I would change calipers would be to save weight when they finally pack up.

Anything's better than Honda's monkey metal pistons, which corrode at the 1st sight of water

Another huge problem with the Honda brakes, is overheating. A bigger brake kit generally cool better.

If you keep on top of them maintainence wise there shouldnt be problems! Give them a copper greasing and mini overhaul at each pad change Nothing with moving parts lasts forever without maintainence!

Im sure if the S2000 had one of these aftermarket brake systems fitted for 1000s of miles that would start to corrode and stick...

Also if your running aftermarket pads and disks these are designed to distribute heat better, so with some DIY brake ducts there should be no overheating problems unless your 'riding the brakes like an old lady' (Gone in 60 seconds quote)

OEM calipers FTW, apart from weight wise!
Copper slip and brake fluid dont mix mate, Otherwise I would of done this the 1st time round

The black diamond pads and discs still overheat, plus I'll need bigger brakes for when I het the turbo fitted.
