Here is a post from the heart, some may call it a rant, but it isn't, it is something I've said in person to people at meets and stuff

The car will get cheaper, so the demographic will change. Fact of life. It happened on the 'US side' a long while ago, and continues to do so.

If you don't like it, don't just sit there and moan about it, make comments about it in threads, or stop posting. DO SOMETHING about it.

POST what you DO want to see. Talk about the things you DO want to talk about.

It really gets on my tits when people blame 'the forum' for it. What people forget is THEY ARE 'the forum'

The forum will not change of its own accord, it needs you to make an impact.

I often hear people say "I don't post much anymore, it's not the same, it's changing" etc.. Well, Stopping won't do anything to stop, or slow the change, it will accelerate it.

This is YOUR forum, use it

As you can guess from my sig I used to be an Elise owner and I used
to frequent the Lotus BBS (still do under a different name).

And that went the same way a long time ago.

Hope this doesn't. Its still a long way off yet AE.

And on a similar note my S2000 holds more 'respect' with the young
lads I know than the Liz did and hopefully will stay out of their reach!

but if one protests too much at the use of language or a particular topic

one is accused of 'putting off noobs'

This is something I just can't understand. I come to this forum because, er, well, its an S2000 forum and I have.......an S2000! I never worry particularly about the demographic of the forum or the people that drive the same car as me. I chose the S2000 because I like it, it meets my needs and because it gives me a lot of joy. I'd still own it even if they were two a penny down at McDonalds or the High Street.

With respect and IMHO, those that get all up tight and worried about the influx of 'chavs' are also those that worry when they buy a 325i and the next week Mr & Mrs Jones buy a 330i with the nappa leather. Enjoy your car and your forum for what it means to you - not the image it presents. You can always go buy a Cayman S if you want to stay ahead of the chavs

On a final note, the S2000 doesn't have a turbo and can't easily be modded - that'll put a LOT of barry-boys off so it'll never get as bad as scoobys and evo's, etc.
