Default Forgot my MOT

Just realised my car's MOT has run out. The dealer i used to use closed down and i told their other branch not to take my details on as their service manager is on my list (should i get terminal cancer or something)..

Hence no reminder.

Just booked in at a local garage for tomorrow lunch.. luckily i've not used it in over a week.

Next service i'll have to book a day off and drive it somewhere for the service.. where should i go? which is the bestest Honda dealer with the nicest roads and best courtesay cars?

Last loaner I got was a week old new shape MX5. This time round I'm going to ask for an RX8 I think... Though I could go for a big vehicle and do a booze cruise.

Was a month late on the beater once. Never late on the S since it is always service time too.

same here Mark

np

it's non-endorsable and usually a derisory fine

don't believe anyone who tells you it invalidates your insurance

it doesn't - unless specified in your schedule

you have to keep the vehicle roadworthy and an MOT is not proof of that

as everyone knows, it only 'guarantees' condition at the time the test is completed

anyone who doesn't believe me, can try using their six month old MOT as a defence against a bald tyre or defective light

Quite - I seem to remember a rather lengthy, and mildly heated, discussion a about it here a year or so ago.

Only a month for me - but that was on the MGF. S has only had one MOT as it was an 03. I did almost miss that though

(next one in a month)

Mine ran out on the 14th, but it's on axle stands at the moment while the wheels were being done.

I'll get it done soon, but I did too many miles last year so I'm trying not to drive it too much, while it's got no wheels on, I can't be tempted!!!

6 Months on my "airport" car. I know I`m a bit gash, but even I was surprised by how long I`d left it.
In my defence I was preoccupied by a potential purchase of an S;which after 6 months research,I did.

dealer used to remind me but then Mapperley shut down and i asked not to be moved to their lenton branch.. i don't get on with Les at Lenton Lane.. basically i think he's a workshy little fact hunt and about as handy as a foot.. so i won't be taking it there. the service (aside from les) was always reasonable but then they scratched my car and denied it (very long story)..

so i have to find somewhere else now.. probably Grantham Honda.. wtf i'll do in grantham while they service it.. maybe test drive another S?
