Default Footrest

I've just bought a metal footrest as per the later model cars but have gone to put it in my MY00 and noticed that my footrest is screwed in wheras the new one has big square clips.

Any ideas on the best way to fit it?

Cheers.

Fantastic suggestions guys, cheers! Maybe I'll try both...I'm worried that won't hold it though

The newer one I bought came with the mounting bracket for the square clips. That requires lifting the carpet and swapping the mount.

I would suggest contacting your seller and getting the newer mount to keep the job clean.

I put a metal dead pedal in mine floppy, IIRC the plastic one screwed out and left a couple of square holes for the metal one to just push into and stay in place.

S2k Eire - thanks for that. I've sent a PM to the person I bought it off so I'll see what I can sort.

Ade- no plastic lugs for it to screw into unfortunately, its a metal screw thread

Floppy when you take the plastic footrest out does it look like this?

Does the back of your metal footrest look like this?

If so then it just clips in place, if not then as per S2k Eire it needs a different mounting bracket, i did this mod years ago so cant remember if i had to swap brackets or not.

Nope mine has two small screw holes in the mounting bracket not the square ones.

I PM'd the guy who I bought it off to ask about the bracket but that was about as much use as a solar powered torch!

Where the hell can I get hold of one of those now
