Thanks for uploading the pic Wayne! Shiny

I've managed to sort borrowing a set of wheels from Simonix too so I'll be taking the XD9's to Pristine Alloys in MK on Saturday for a refurb if all goes to plan! The local place is booked up for a month and I'm not patient enough to wait that long!

Looks good, is it BB?

I'm tempted to go for a non Honda colour

Black is the best colour as it hides nasties like washer jets and headlight washers, and highlights shiny bits like exhausts and wheels.

Get it sorted in time for the Druids Run

Nope. After originally toying with Black Gold from the RenaultSport's and Alfa Romeo Etna Nero (plus 10 different spray out cards) I decided that regardless of mix we had made up the car would look burgundy in bright light and not just have a subtle red fleck in the paint that I was trying to achieve...so in the end I've gone for a pure black that has no other colours in it so its as dark as you can get it. Ray who's painting it also checked it didn't look brownish to the eye like some pure black colours appear.

Hopefully it won't be as soft as the Honda paint either! I'm looking at giving it the GTechniq treatment though to protect it as its also supposed to help with cleaning, which I'm bound to be doing a lot of!

LG - I don't have any washer jets etc anymore

I took the wheels to Pristine in MK on Saturday so they'll be ready for me to collect when I finish work in Friday...I can't wait! I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas!

Great work and dedication! I know exactly who you feel as my S has been off the road since October and comes back from paint tomorrow! I'm also considering using some paint protection treatments on mine.. Just not too sure how soon to apply it..

When is the Next MK run? It's not too far from me and would be good to meet you guys. However I was also very very close to going black with my car so seeing yours could make me regret my PPW choice :-)

Funtimefrankie - I think the MK meet is every 3rd Thursday of the month but there isn't an MK run. Most people do the Ricky run and I know Simonix is planning a Rutland run for the tail end of April/early may. Would be good to meet you

Mr Pitts - I know exactly how you feel. I have been thinking exactly the same up until a couple of weeks ago as progress had been virtually non-existent since Novemeber. It's still not ready but almost there now!

Thanks, they've just had a refurb and will be on the new car. They're Work Emotion XD9's.

I've been up the workshop this morning to do a few little bits and pieces like trimming the arch liner etc ready for things to go back together as quickly as possible early next week. It was bloody freezing though!

Captain Ray was busy masking up and putting parts in the spray booth so I got some more pictures including the underside of the front arches to show the detail in his work:

I also want to give a big thanks to Simonix for lending me his OEM 16's while I had the XD9's refurbed this week at Pristine in MK

By the time I swap the soft top out I will have taken apart and put back together almost the entire car...so am I allowed to call this a build thread now?

Your welcome.

In fact, silver against the black looks good, hope you didn't go too dark on the anthracite on the XD9s?!

Still, all looking really nice. Can't wait to see it finished! :-)
