Thanks for your input so basically as I'll be fitting the VAFC along with my exhaust and an intake is the knock sensor useless? I just received a new one I ordered from CFL last thurs

After doing the engines both ways would you say its easier to drop the whole subframe or the splitting the box off first? I had the same kind of thing, the subframe on my back one had a really stiff bolt that would NOT undo to drop it down, the orange one came out no problems at all!

One of the gearbox bolts was rounded off on the engine I kept as well, but I only realised when I was trying to get the bolt back in! (This was DEFINATELY done before I put it in, I didn't round it! Need to try and get a new thread cut in place!)

I have a spare OEM knock sensor after my swap as I managed to glue one back together! Its a genuine Honda one! You can have it for £140 if you want?

I need to put my finished photos up!
I'd definitely say dropping the lot out on the subframe from underneath was much easier to be honest and the weight distribution stays much more even too so it's easier to handle and manoeuvre. We also mounted the engine and box back to the subframe and then after putting it on a few tyres in order to out thecsubfrsme bolts back in we aligned it with the body and lowered the body down onto it. It was a really easy way to do it and definitely saved time as it was a case of doing up the subframe bolts and then attaching the struts and upper wishbones and that was pretty much it.

I also put my rack spacers in while the steering rack was sat on the floor mounted to the subframe, it took about 10 mins instead of 2hrs

Just a little update...I've not done a lot to my new S since having it pass the MOT but just little bits and pieces like swapping door cards, taking it for a drive and enjoying it as well as checking it's still running nice and smoothly and 180 miles in its doing just fine. I've been down to the local paint suppliers and picked 5 different pearl black paints to choose from and am just waiting in Whaninoz' dad to do some spray outs on them before deciding on the final colour. My new front lip has also arrived too so hopefully I can get it in for the arch rolling to be started this week.

To finish the week off nicely i had a letter from my insurers saying that the other insurers have admitted full liability for the accident so its happy days! I've also been down to the DVLA too as I've had a little bit of hassle getting my private plate transferred from the old car to the new one but the documents finally came through yesterday so today I've taken the front number plate bracket off and put my plates on the car this afternoon and given it a wash for the first time

Well its been a very long time since I last posted here as I worked hammer and nail to get all the mechanical work done on the new S to get her roadworthy but it ground to a halt with the bodywork.

In all honesty I wish I'd never gone back down the road of arch rolling and just bought a nice set of OEM MY04 or MY06 alloys and have the bumper resprayed and boot spoiler fitted. I was well past the point of no return though by the time I had decided this as my car was in bits!

However, the bodywork is well under way now and I am hoping with fingers and toes crossed that I will have it back in about 2 weeks time at the latest (which is what I have been told).
At the moment the car is in primer and should have most body parts painted this week with the little bits and pieces like door handles and wing mirrors etc. done next week.

Here's some dodgy iPhone pics I took last week:

In my excitement at this prospect I've jumped the gun a bit today and been shopping online too and have bought these little goodies ready to keep the car nice and clean!

I've also had a chat with WiM about a decent Geo so that only leaves the wheels to get refurbed, which I will take a to a local place who have offered me a good price.

I'll post pictures up as soon as there is any more progress but hopefully I'll make the April Ricky run and MK meet!
