The Floppy Saga (Formerly The Transplant)
After an argument with a blind Rover driver my car went from this:

After sending my insurer 21 photos of the accident scene, 3 google map print screens with drawings of our vehicle positions leading up to the accident as well as a written statement my insurers have withdrawn all support without prejudice to the 3rd party involved and are persuing him for full liability. In the mean time my insurance have had the car independently inspected and written the car off. In the end I was given a settlement of £5000, which I was pleased about considering they initially offered me £3150!
Anyway, I have already sorted out a replacement but its going to be a bit of a mission getting it on the road. Some of you might remember a member on the forum last year (VIXNU) who managed to hydrolock his engine in a flood in Peterborough. Well Whaninoz' dad bought the car off him and hadn't got around to selling it on so I've just bought it. Its a Berlina Black MY02 with red interior, that had 65k miles on the clock. The engine is lunched with a bent rod and dropped valve but the box is good.
So the plan is to lift the engine out of my crashed one and drop it into the black one as well as transfer all of my mods along with the polybushed suspension arms. I then plan to let Whaninoz' dad do his magic on it getting the arches rolled, front bumper plastic welded and smoothed, fit the strakes and boot spoiler and then re-paint it. In the mean time I'll also replace the clutch seeing as everything will be out along with the front coilovers and swap the polybushes out of the front left arms of the old car which are bent, onto the arms of the new car. Thankfully all the bushes are free on the black one including both OEM castor's so it should be an ok job to do. I'll also do a reg transfer so I can have my S2000 plate on it as well.
It will be my 3rd S2000 and I've always wanted a black one so I'm looking forward to getting it on the road. Here's the new car as it stands now, completely OEM...so watch this space for some pictures of progress with it as I go along and remember...this is not a build thread

For those of you who are interested I will also be parting out the silverstone one so watch the for sale forum as I'll be stripping it as soon as I can and putting everything up for grabs.

What did you do re front plate on your old one?
Glad you got some more cash from them, is your boot lid any good and rear bumper?

Did they give you £5k, plus your crashed car back? If so, good going!!
I love the look of the earlier front, without the reg plate and surround. When I get some pennies, I need to get my front resprayed and the reg plate shrunk!
Good luck with the non build!!

The boot lid will be for sale but I'm currently negotiating with another forum member on it as it has a Veilside V1 spoiler fitted to it. The rear bumper is perfect. The whole car was resprayed last August.
I got £5k and then bought the car back at a very good price. The way I see it is that the engine and box alone make it worth buying the car back

Thanks lovelyG
It will be about 4 weeks or so before I have everything off the car I think or I may decide to strip it bit by bit and sell as I remove stuff. I'm not sure whether I'll have any storage room to strip the whole car in one go.

Driveshaft spacers
Rack spacers (I hate this job!)
Rear toe arms
Beaks rear tie bar
Spoon front X brace
Decat
Buddyclub exhaust
polybushed arms (apart from front left)
Veilside V1 boot spoiler
Strakes
probably more but I can't think off the top of my head
While we're on the subject, I don't know what to do with regards to the clutch...whether to get an uprated one or just a standard OEM one? I may add a VTEC Controller and possibly some nitrous at some point so may as well do a job of it in one go to save the effort in the future.
If anyone has any tips on the engine removal also feel free to chip in and post.
Thanks
