Flat battery no radio code, any ideas?

That is the way to figure out the SN without removing the radio. If someone steals it, he won't be needing this trick to find it, since it's written on the back
Sorry, wrong as it will not give a radio code, just the electronic serial number if it is a Panasonic. Alpine or Pioneer unit, you need that, and other info to get the radio code.

If it is a BOSE unit then you need the serial number stamped on the chassis of the radio unit, together with the other info to get the code.

I didn't say anything about the code I said Serial Number (SN). That is the number the dealer will check up to find your radio code.

About the other stuff you said, I have no idea, so they should be correct

I thought the code was a five digit code and not four digit Ian.

My S2000 code is 5 digits also, keep it with you, works for me.

Found the code and entered it - radio working.
(It was a BOSE unit)
