Flat battery advice :(
Having been away for the week, I returned to find my boot had been slightly open all week and the light inside had drained my battery.
Any ideas how I go about getting the battery sorted. Can I just buy some jump leads/ wizzy power point adapter from Halfords and then drive around a lot or am I likely to need a new battery?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
John

A trickle charger would do the trick - with the battery drained completely jump leads wouldn't be much use.
Your descision is whether the cost of a charger you may never use again is worth it over the cost of a new battery.
Unless you know anyone you could borrow one from, I'll lend you mine if you want to come down to Wiltshire to collect it....

Hi,
Jump leads or a charger should sort it, BUT! if the battery is completely dead you will need to get some charge in to the battery before you can start the car..eg enough to get the immobiliser/alarm to dissarm..
so if using jump leads connect them up and then let the other car run for 5-10 minutes before you ry to start the dead one.
The battery should be ok....but, lead acid batterys are very good at starting cars, but hate being left flat....so the chances are it's long term life has been shortened, but should be ok short term...eg 3/4 years ok rather than 7/8 years...probably.....And even this is highly subjective..
