Maybe. Best thing to do is first try putting washers under the striker plate(this will increase the tension on the roof much the same as new strikers would but will only cost you the price of some washers) If the washers stop your leak you can either leave it like that or get new strikers with peace of mine knowing they'll work.
If you don't know what I mean by fitting washers all you do is unbolt the striker plates and put some washers (just one per bolt hole) on the underside of the plates so that when you you bolt them back into position the washers will act as spacers and will make your plates sit lower which will increase tension on your roof when you latch it back in.

I also need to do this. I was lead to believe that these parts are really expensive but that seems fairly reasonable to me. Does it help with the squeaks when the soft is up?

I have absolutley no squeeks or rattles what so ever but I have also squeezed some foam down the sides of the plastic bits on the side of the roof catches as they used to rattle like mad. The striker plates made the biggest difference though

Well I just finished installing my GT striker plates. I have to say, on first glance, they didnt look much different, but once installed, they seem 110% better. I used to be unable to unhook or hook the passenger side roof catch whilst driving with one hand, now the tension is such, that I cant!
I hope it cures the problem of me getting pissed wet through after its rained and the water coming in through the gap in the seals halfway along the passenger and driver side window!
Well worth the £70 it cost me!
