Default First track day with some tuition

Hi,

Has anyone done a track day where they offer some tuition?

I thought it would be a good idea for my first track day in the s2000. Any suggestions? Hopefully about 2 hours drive from Sheffield.

Thanks

You can do it at Knockhill for a 120 quid and that's 20 odd laps with an instructor am sure other tracks would offer a similar deal. Knockhill call it a performance driving course

Speaking as a professional instructor, I'd advise against Knockhill this time of year for a total novice - it's a tricky circuit and treacherous in cold/wet conditions.

Well within your catchment area however, is Blyton Park.

Whilst not the most interesting or historically significant circuit in the world - it is comparatively safe in all conditions and operates frequently all year round.

You can use this site: http://www.trackdays.co.uk/calendar/cars/ ...to search by venue to see which operators are running days and when.

Edit: a bit further afield is also Bedford Autodrome (but it is an easy run down the M1 mostly). Bedford is probably the safest circuit in the UK and very suited for a total beginner. Again, operable all year - and you'd get something out of the day even if the weather was awful.

Airfield with lots of run-off. They usually have tuition too in 20 min bursts.

Andy Walsh...cicuits and airfield training; the man can properly pedal, a bit of a trek for you but well worth it.

Keep an eye on the Hondas-On-Track forum mate, I've done Trackdays with them over the years and it's really friendly, tuition is available as well. Booked in at my local circuit with them for next July, will be my first time in the S2k.
