Default first time let down

ah well almost three years to the day since i got her and my s has let me down. wouldnt start last night in a freezing car park in the middle of nowhere. battery fine. press button nothing at all happens, like the immobiliser is on. called the rac (rejoined the rac) and they came out. contractor with flat bed tried to jumpstart which i didnt expect to work and then loaded it on the flat bed and took it away. quite sad to see it look so forlorn.

anyway anyone got any ideas what could have caused this? just so i have some ideas when the garage call me to tell me the damage. car tax due this month too gulp

Is the dash lighting up as normal when you turn the ignition on?

If it is i'd be checking the signal wire to the starter motor. Its fitted with a spade connector that just pushes on. I was amazed how loose mine was when I replaced my starter motor, it could have easily come off.

My guess is Main Relay

This is usually the cause on other Honda's (Integra's and Civic's) in the freezing cold, so before you spend too much getting the garage to do anything major try that.

same thing happened to me, water had got into the POS oem alarm. Rather than mess about I had a new cat1 alarm fitted at my house. The car was only out of use for 1 day.

worst thing is i have fixed this on my car before... i think the cold last night must have affected my memory. i called the garage this morning and asked them to check it and it was disconnected.

Given the weather around here that could be fun, good luck.
