First Service Dilemma
#11
i would be inclined to get the oil changed now. when my engine blew i had mineral oil in the new engine for the first 600 miles with the molybdenum additive and then mineral oil for the next 4000 miles. the car then had a full service, the oil was replaced with fully synth and 15k miles on uses about a litre of oil in 9000 miles.

Change the oil, and get it serviced when you get back
Try and guess your mileage before you go and take a trip to Ford or hellfords for some top up oil, so long since i had to state this cant remember the weight 10-40w one in orange mineral bottle.
As for the service they dont mind if you go over the 9000miles by a little as long as get it serviced soon after and by a main dealer to keep warranty.
They get a bit fussy when its in extended warranty and you run over the year or mileage.
Crown told me this as i was worried when going to sm4 but it was fine.
