i would be inclined to get the oil changed now. when my engine blew i had mineral oil in the new engine for the first 600 miles with the molybdenum additive and then mineral oil for the next 4000 miles. the car then had a full service, the oil was replaced with fully synth and 15k miles on uses about a litre of oil in 9000 miles.

Change the oil, and get it serviced when you get back

Think I'll book it in tomorrow for an oil change then. Seems to be the general consensus.

I cahnge mine every 4.5k. Gone over a bit after my recent euro biggie (32.200), but booked the car in for an oil change this Saturday at my dealer -

I've book in for an oil change on Monday, and I've booked my first service in for the day after I get back. They're also doing a deal for 3 services for

Try and guess your mileage before you go and take a trip to Ford or hellfords for some top up oil, so long since i had to state this cant remember the weight 10-40w one in orange mineral bottle.

As for the service they dont mind if you go over the 9000miles by a little as long as get it serviced soon after and by a main dealer to keep warranty.
They get a bit fussy when its in extended warranty and you run over the year or mileage.

Crown told me this as i was worried when going to sm4 but it was fine.
