Just out of curiosity, is it singnificantly cheaper suppling your own oil? and if so, where can i buy the oil i need, as i tried halfords last month and they didn't have the specs recommended in our handbook.

A small saving can be made, you can supply two 4 litre bottles and get most of the 2nd one back for topping up with, but its more the case that you can get the oil you want e.g. a fully synthetic oil like Mobil 1 0W-40 in your car, rather than a semi synthetic oil like Shell Helix Plus that a lot of dealers use.

If you're talking about mineral 5W30 oil, try Ford. I got a big 5 litre can for about

Ted, Costco certainly stocks Mobil 1 (although I can't remember whether it's the correct viscosity) but I've never seen Shell Helix Ultra in there.

They also have Castrol GTX Magnatac, which I know a few people on here use, and it's considerably cheaper than the Mobil 1.
