Yes I do, and I think everyone should.

I read elsewhere, that its something to do with something not spinning as quick as the engine. (Or something).

You'll find that if you engage the clutch, and leave it a couple of seconds before putting it into gear, you won't get the clunk as whatever it is has had chance to spin up.

I read this on the US part of the forum, as I had got concerened.

Instead of starting a new thread, thought I'd drag this one up from way back in time .

I've noticed that I get an ever so slight 'clunk' when I engage first gear, but only happens sometimes. I cannot determine under what circumstances it definitely occurs and when it doesn't. I notice it when the car is at standstill [e.g. at traffic lights] as just as I move the selector to first [note, clutch still engaged] there is a slight clunk - there is no physical resistance felt whilst selecting the gear, I just hear the noise...

Having performed a search, I've seen varied responses, but essentially:

- That it's normal, as per GTFCTIM's post in this thread;
- Another thread, although from our Stateside friends, stating its normal: http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2679014

It doesn't seem like a horrible/broken/concerning noise but I'd like to double check whether this is a 'characteristic' of the car and whether others experience the same thing...?
Or could it be indicative of an underlying issue...?

I get this clunk!!!!! Thank god other people do!

Kinda expected it to be a 'feature' as the old diff oil didn't contain any bits of metal etc when i changed it.

^ Well I didn't want responses telling me to "try the search function - this has been covered many times already" etc., plus its confusing when multiple threads cover the same issue.
Would much rather have genuine responses relating to the specific issue consolidated into one thread [which should help the next person who searches for this topic ],

So, back to this clunk... ...
