Default Finance - PCP query...

There must be someone here that has done this before...

As you know, I'm trying to sell the S2000. At present I have paid enough deposit/installments to simply end the agreement myself and walk away. It's a last resort option, as I know I could sell the car for more money, but I am looking at getting a new vehicle asap and any part-exchange offers have been laughable.

The question is... if you self-terminate a PCP agreement, does it have a detrimental effect on your personal credit report? Someone once told me it effectively put a big red mark on your credit status.

Thanks in advance

Graham

I don't think it does, maybe only if you've missed payments or defaulted.

No thats crap, your credit status is not affected. I work for Experian and I know a little bit about VT - Voluntary Termination. As long as you have gone more than 50% through the finance term and/or paid 50% you will be fine. Just read the small print on your finance agreement.

The finance company is not allowed to put a black mark against you as its the law. However, they may not be so keen to provide finance to you at a later date and they reserve the right to refuse.

I would do it if I had too.

I used to work for Experian in Nottingham. In the offices opposite the HQ.

Used to have great fun gesticulating to the CEO who we could see from our office safe in the knowledge that our windows were mirrored. Until someone pointed out that he can see in on sunny days because of our white shirts...

I think it was the first floor I worked on.

Coffee bean shaking actions at the CEO's office should be avoided at all costs on sunny days when wearing a white shirt! They can see you through the mirrored windows!

But then I don't work there anymore, so carry on!!!

Lambert House.....you lucky git I've been moved to the new "Landmark House" aka Windowlene.

Right next to "the Meadows", flak jackets not supplied

John Saunders visited on Friday, never seen so many flunkies running around like headless chickens moving bins out of site and polishing finger prints off the glass doors

It has a fountain outside thats been switched off because it "sprays" water all over the 3D Experian sign....yellow dye for the water anyone?

Roadkill: I agree with Moff on the finance.

Thanks for the info. I had this confirmed today by Honda Finance. However, I now have an offer from the Dealership to buy back the car, so I will not have to go through this route.
I won't close the thread, because you are all in mid-discussion about various office blocks in Nottingham!
