Default Final Gear change

I have had my 04 s2000 for just over 3 years and enjoying every drive. A little extra acceleration at the slower end would be very welcome and i have started looking at changing the final drive. I dont do a lot of high speed motorway driving and in fact i find myself rarely using 5th or 6th . I would never attempt to drive at 150 mph so i dont mind limiting top speed. I have done searchs on this forum and read the excellant thread in paper lawyers sig. I believe the 4.56 is the way to go and also to buy a casing from a breakers and have it made up before fitting to the car. I have been looking at Ricks final drive made by richmond with the dollar exchange in our favour the price works out at around

Not sure, but do you mean the 4.56 ratio ?

IIRC, StevenM has also changed his final drive - perhaps he'll pop by later & contribute.

It's an unhelpful response, I know, but this has been discussed in quite considerable detail in the UK forum before so it's worth trying to dig those threads out.

The "normal" search engine is a bit hit-and-miss but try the link below - it's the advanced search engine and gives you a bit more control over what you search for and where.

With a bit of luck, the site update tomorrow will solve the search problems - I know it's one of the issues cthree says it is designed to address

Perhaps he won't ......

What is it you need to know?

There has been a recent thread on this that is worthwhile reading. If Stocky manages to source the Kia 4.625 gears you should also consider getting one of these.

Stocky is going to contact me with regard to sourcing the Kia 4.625 gear. If he can source them or at least get me the part number it may be worth setting up some sort of group buy.

I think there are quite a number of people interested in this mod at the moment.

Heres a link to thread I started last week Linky

Bear in mind the final gear package that hardtopguy now also offers.
