Fifth Gear probs.
I was on my way to the Bristol Classic Car Show in... er! Shepton Mallet, today. I was going across the Mendips & was overtaking a couple of cars. As I put it into fifth, I had a lazy left foot moment & crunched the gears. For the last 5-6 miles of my journey after that, everytime I put it into fifth, it would jump out of gear as soon as I put any load on. but on my journey home the gearbox was fine. Any ideas?

Did you give it any beans on the way back or just gentle driving?

I recently mis-shifted and managed to make 5th feel like a slack 40yr old woman.
I decided to let it calm down, drive the car calmly for a good few miles and it's gone back into gear beautifully.
Think a fluid change shortly won't go a miss.

You have bent the shift slector fork on the mis-shift.
I did this and it wouldn't let me go into 6th.
I just had to be firm with it and it would.
after about 200 miles it was back to normal and then I changed the gearbox oil.
Never been better
