Surely you have to do this through insurance, Aj?

It's going to cost a shit load otherwise, versus a few hundred quid excess? Is it protected NCB?

I wasn't aware that you can really???

No my current insurer would not give me protected NCB until another year .

bad luck mate - I think you would be best off claiming on the ins

I was in London on Monday

saw a lorry trying to get past a legally parked DB9

when we got back to the office we were told the driver had taken out the side of the Aston and driven off...

If i can claim off the insurance i might as well (i will enquire tomorrow).

I'll have to tot up the costs and see how much my insurance will cost 'roughly' year and see if its worth it.

Ouch thats got to be expensive esp for an Aston.

if you are fully comp you can claim

you might lose (or they will raise the premium) 20-30% of your NCB plus your excess

but I doubt that will come to £3K

How gutting for you. A long shot but keep an eye open to see if any of the neighbours have a camera system. I'm guessing that you can pin the time of the damage down quite tight.

And check your policy, i know that Direct Line now include vandalism cover which does not hit your NCB.

Thats really bad gutted for you. Insurance is an option but it will cost you for years on premiums :-(

Goes to show that not everyone is as honest as you would like.

it shouldn't

I had a £45K claim (around £60K when you added other bits) following a Ferrari total loss theft claim and burglary

my premium went up by around £200 pa (I never protect my NCB)

within a couple of years I was back to max ncb

my home insurance went DOWN

****** shitheads..

hope the ins sort it mate, we had a cockend run into the vec but the damage was really minor, he refused to enter a claim. the missus ended up having a go at me, she wouldnt let me beat his head in.

in retrospect it's £100 worth and it would have been nasty, i hate people who dont take responsibility for their actions.
