Few questions for a soon to be owner

I think people have paid up to 300 quid depending on who / where / when. If it's your first RWD car, your first car with some power and you're a relatively 'new' driver then it's worth the money. Unlike the Golf GTI ... this doesn't have a huge amount of driver safety aids, ABS is about it.

If you want one and have the nonce to learn to drive it right then good luck to you!!!

You are right, why would you lie. If you are half sensible, which you sound like you are, then I think you will be fine in a S.if you are reasonably good with spanners the car can be reasonable to run. On the other hand if you modify using top shelf parts and take to the dealer to have wiper blades changed, then you might find it on the expensive side to run.
The thing I love about the car is its like walking a tightrope..... On the one hand it can be a nice steady run about but on the other hand it can be a knife edge drive that leaves you exited and happy that you chose that car.
I find it like a powerful motorbike, which can be used sedately or be an absolute animal if you go beyond what the conditions allow. It's 2 cars in 1 and in my opinion the very best looking ragtop at any price.go ahead and buy one take time to learn the car and enjoy yourself.... I suspect you will be glad you chose it

My recommendation would be to go and get yourself a different rwd for your first drive one, and go and drive that for at least at year and then rethink your S.
Personally I've always driven rwd excusing two motors which I hated, but then a good mate of mine and even more of a petrol head than I am went out and bought one and ended up not liking it at all. Now I don't think that one statistic makes any odds but it is worth remembering that the S isn't for everyone.
Which ever choice you make I wish you good luck, but if you do take the S route now then I would second taking a lesson on how to control on a skid pan.

lolwut?
He has got a good insurance quote, when I was 21 my insurance was around £1k on the S2k as well.
Big deal, you need to learn to either shop around or move to a better area. Sorry, but being incredulous gets you nowhere.

How long ago was that Gbduo? Insurance is crazy for young lads these days, I agree that the £1k mark does seem....strangely cheap
I'll bet Sky Insurance & Flux are sh**ting themselves if 'The Admiral' is able to offer deals like this!
Well done OP, you must be very, very special judging from other quotes in the insurance thread
