Default A few newbie questions from a new owner

Had my s for about a week now, still absolutely love it to bits

Few questions though!

On the air vent selection dial thingy, what is the one with the convertible outline and arrow in the middle for? I tend to use that a lot as it seems to worm the entire car up quite nicely? Im guessing its for when you have the roof down?

How do you get the stock stereo out?? I think my cd changer input has come loose, as only 1 side of speakers work with the cd player, radio is fine.

What are the recommended tyre pressures for S02's?

Thanks in advance

You're right about the heater setting - it's "top down" mode, blowing air out of the vents above the radio door.

Recommended pressure for S02s is 32 psi.

To get the radio out, you have to take the door off first. Wrap a screwdriver in insulating tape and insert it into the vent above the door. Gently lever it downwards and the door insert should pop out. You can then get at the screws at the side of the radio to remove them.

A few answers:

You are correct

With care, look in the audio FAQ in the Electronics forum.

32PSI when cold.

MT you sound like an expert there!

On getting the stereo out (as I have done it a few times now!)
MT is spot on but I would add!
Put it in 2nd gear and cover the know to stop any damage.
There are three screws either side when you get the cover off undo the top and bottom ones to slide the unit forward!
OR - You may be able to check it without removing the stereo! There are two panels either side of the HU housing, each held on with one screws. Remove them and use a torch you should be able to see the back of the head unit. If you feel upto it you may be able to push a lose connector back in with a screw drive. BE CAREFUL the HU is sat on top of the airbag control

Easier to remove a side panel and stick your had round the back and push the aux wire block back in.
Use the force.

A little knowledge can be made to go a VERY long way, Mike

Even the most technically-backward fool like me can pick up enough basic info to sound like an expert if you hang around here long enough
