Even shoving the rear wheels under the sills will stop the car dropping completely to the ground will help, the tip is making sure that the lowest part of the car cannot get as low as your chest/head, also chocking the wheels will help prevent it moving on stands.

Such a sad way to end I have also have had a car come of jacks and now always prop with wheel or wood..
