Very sad

I've known two people die like this

One was found by his wife when she went out to tell him his meal was ready...

Best advice was on another thread the other day - put a spare wheel on it's side under the car - that won't move

I use a couple of cut down sleepers - yes it's hassle but a couple of minutes versus the rest of your life

Way too easy to cause stands to topple, especially if you are putting some welly into whatever you are doing
2nd'ed it's all to easy for the subframe to slide off axle stands, i've made 6" drive onto wooden blocks to get the car up, and blocks of sleeper to stand the subframe on if wheels coming off

Very sad, all too easy to dive under a car with proper precautions.

Very sobering thread, I've supported a car in far more dangerous ways in the past.

You can easily make some wooden ramps from 3" thick planks etc.
Saw the corners off and screw them together to about 8" high.

Less likely to skid out from under the wheels too than steel ones.

Make them around 8"-10" wide and if using a jack instead you can
then use the wooden ramps on their side under the sills etc.

I read this and thought how tragic.....he has left a lovely wife and child behind.I was comforted by the fact that she has sought solice in the club across the pond and has been given immense support.

A lesson to all!
