Terrible tragedy. What we should all take from this is that saftey should be your first concern when working on your car (or anything else for that matter) and you should always have someone else nearby when doing big jobs, if only to make the tea if nothing else.

Very sad

I've known two people die like this

One was found by his wife when she went out to tell him his meal was ready...

Best advice was on another thread the other day - put a spare wheel on it's side under the car - that won't move

I use a couple of cut down sleepers - yes it's hassle but a couple of minutes versus the rest of your life

Way too easy to cause stands to topple, especially if you are putting some welly into whatever you are doing

What a terrible accident

I'm always worried when the car is jacked even if there are stands and jack still under it
