i've melted my oem's on the road. depends if you're on a bit of road with a lot of sharp bends and no traffic. don't rate the oem's at all.
I can easily reduce a set of oem pads to a smouldering, smoking waste of space. Road from Attleborough to Watton in Norfolk will do it everytime - it has just the right combination of straights and tight bends.

Unfortunately I can't remember what it was I replaced them with, making this post slightly pointless, but the current ones don't fade although do need a bit of warming up.

Aren't Red stuff a bit severe for road use (I like brakes that work well without having to be warmed up on a road car IYSWIM)
IKWYM!

Especially if you're just setting off & some dozy sprog or OAP wanders out in front of you.

Part of the S2000's problem is that one can out-drive most cars (!) by out late-braking them. That encourages one to abuse the brakes a bit.

For road use, they're generally fine.

I'd be tempted to swap in some Red Stuff just for the track days.

I've found Red Stuff work absolutely fine on the road. If there is any difference in cold bite over OEM, it's quickly forgotten and not noticeable in normal use. Work fine on the track, too. A pretty cost effective solution, and easy to get hold of, since they're the same parts as for the CTR.

I've got a set of Porterfields (R4S) waiting for when my current Reds run out. 2 or 3 hard trackdays seem to do for them...

I find the OEMs are fine for road use - we have our fair share of (speedlimitless) roads here and they've never let me down. Not tried them on the track though, where I would fit the set of Carbotech Panther Plus pads I have - they are amazing and good from cold also, but the dust is too much to live with every day and they squeal like nobody's business.
