Even though it's a Sheriff that'll be judging this I would think the guidelines will be standard across the UK.

Sorry to hear you got busted, I hate reading these posts as I know I speed and I feel like I am waiting for my letter to come in the post sometimes.
I have driven the A74 / M74 quite a few times in the last 6 months and it is littered with undercover mobile units, most of which have been on bridges. I was driving an empty M74 (clear dry day) 90mph on the inside lane and luckily spotted the van at the side of the bridge trying to hide. What a joke, the road was perfectly safe and it was a Sunday.
I think if anyone is caught doing 96mph on a dual carriageway its likely to be an automatic ban for a minimum of 2 weeks. If it were the motorway section it may be different but not on an A road. I do hope your lucky though.
I find Scotland to be the worst place for mobile units and hidden GATSO's. I was so lucky to have my RA when I drove up the A9 last year, there were at least 2 hidden GATSO's on the way to Perth and beyond (I went to Lossiemouth) one nr the Caledonian Spring place was hidden behind a sign!!

Well... after making that conservative post... I leave the office take the G/F down to her dads... AND TRASH THE S! Yup I've just taken out a fence somewhere in Ayrshire Bummer, I may well be missing WBT for this now.

Aw crap . I was doing about 95-100 mph heading up along M74 a week ago. Had a great time playing cat and mouse with a RX-8. Hope i don't pay dearly for it.
Speed traps and esclating insurance made me think twice about keeping the S. Can't really afford it on my meagre payscale (nope, can't do private practice yet).
I have considered swapping the S for a Brabus Smart .
