His car just isn't fast enough at the moment mate, that's all. McLaren and Ferrari and coming on leaps and bounds, and Renault seem to have hit the wall in terms of car development.
unless my eyes deceived me, he made two significant errors on his qualifying lap

Renault suddenly in reverse

My money has to go on boring git number two - Kimi - subject to reliability

I won't rule old po-face Michael out for just yet though

I still thought it was an interesting race - I must be more of a sad F1 geek than I thought!

Unfortunately I think it is too late in the season for Kimi to get past Alonso - Renault clearly weren't great at this race, but Alonso was put out of position by that crowded first corner incident, and neither he nor Barrichello were able to make it into the points.

Certain cars may just have been flattered by this track - Ferrari and Toyota spring to mind - but we'll have to see over the next few races.

And the Renaults are still clearly more reliable than the Maccas - there has to be a very high chance of Kimi having at least 1 more retirement this year, if not more.

So I am still sticking with Alonso to become youngest ever World Champ.

And as for Rubens going to BAR - this says to me that BAR are expecting to lose JB next year, and are making sure they have a top driver to put alongside Taku. If they manage to keep JB, all the better, they can ditch Taku, but presumably RB will want jt no 1 status with JB, as this is why he is leaving Ferrari!

All the stories that surround F1 are without doubt far more interesting than the racing

Rubens on Monday regarding BAR:

Rubens Barrichello has expressed his exasperation at the mounting paddock and media speculation over his future, saying it is causing strains within the Ferrari team.

The Brazilian is being widely tipped to leave the Maranello outfit one year before his contract expires in favour of a switch to BAR-Honda in 2006.

Former three-time world champion Nelson Piquet added credence to the rumours when he told the Brazilian press (citing contacts at Honda) that Barrichello had already agreed a two-year deal with BAR.

But Rubens claimed his compatriot

Common BAR let him drive not some 32 year old.

I think BAR need an experienced driver, and Davidson is far from that currentlly.

If BAR were smart they'd send him out to Sauber etc with an option to bring him back in later years.
