I don't like to show I am totally ignorant, but what exactly does "rice" mean, and where does it come from?Oh, and I like Volvo's, but no enough to do that. Tragically, I have seen an S2000 in Stirling with an equally outrageous wing...

Euan, "rice" is short for "rice rocket", a derogatory term coined by the Septics to describe any car, although originally of Japanese origin, which has been heavily modified.
Dates back to the 70s and 80s when cheap Japanese imports were causing a great deal of resentment amongst Yanks who thought that they were destroying their own car-making industry.

Has to be the most awful pile pile of horse dung that I have ever seen. Somebody must find out who owns that car and as mentioned earlier get them to appear on top gear!!! Bet he wears knickers.
