How long are you planning on keeping the car?
I paid just under 600 euros to extend my warranty by 2 years back in November because the chance of me selling the car in that time is very high (I won't be in France that long, or at least I hope not). It'll be a strong plus point that it has a warranty when I come to sell it.
Since then I had a wheel bearing fail causing damage to the hub, which would have cost me quite a lot. So I'm happy with my choice.

I'm in a real dilemma, I generally buy cars with about a years warranty on them and get everything sorted , that way I save money when I'm buying the car, get everything fixed and it's good for another couple of years til I replace it.
Very succesful strategy for me so far, until I bought this thing.
It's had so much warranty work done it's like Triggers broom from only fools and horses (I've ad the same broom for 10 years, t's as 9 new heads and 4 new handles)
My warranty is up at the end of the year, and this is the first car I have been scared to run without a warranty (and I used to run JAGS FFS)
do I change it or get more extended warranty hmmmm.......
the car has had 2 gearboxes 2 clutches 2 sets of roof seals roof stalks clips new alloys and I'm waiting for yet another clutch replacement new AC condensor and more Roof seals and stalks.
I've had the car 6 months.
Terrifying.
