I only have the Honda extended warranty on the engine but I have an AA warranty on the rest of the car and this is very clearly worded and specifically excludes "folding roofs" (I'm happy with that - I could see what was what before I bought the warranty - I want cover for all those expensive mechanical and electrical bits).
I would be surprised if the Honda one covers it as I think it would be unusually good cover for an extended warranty.
If you have a problem with your roof maybe you can get a specialist repair to keep costs down?

From how I read the Honda extended warrenty its very ambiguous as to what it covers,it does have exclusions on wear and tear products clutch, brake pads etc ,but also has a section on whats covered on front wheel drive !!!!
It doesnt say anthing about the hood at all that I can see so in the eyes of the law does this mean that its covered as its not in the exclusions or its not covered because it doesnt say it is covered

The wordings sound badly drafted out to me - I guess they wouldn't get a crystal mark (I thought the same of my engine warranty document)!
If the wordings don't make it clear that this is covered you will get a strong argument that it is not and I dount very much that you will get a claim through.
I'd be happy to check the wordings for you if you want to scan them in and email them to me but don't get your hopes up (I'm 99.5% certain this won't be covered).

For "wriggle room" read they are not going to cover:
Anything worn out (always applied to clutches and brakes but they can be naughty and try to apply this to other areas).
Any claim where you can't provide proof of dealer servicing history (I, personally, would fight this unless they had proof the claim came about due to lack of servicing - if you regularly check & change the engine oil and filter there ain't much dealer servicing would have stopped from going wrong!)
Any claim where they can prove you have modified the car (again, personally, I would fight this unless they could prove the mod directly caused the fault - in both these areas your own engineer's report and maybe oil analysis could cost you but could help get a costlier claim paid).
Any claim for a "part" that is not specifically included within the cover. To check this see if the layout is: "starter motor, alternator, window motors..." or "all electrical parts are covered". With the former, unless the actual part is mentioned, it won't be covered. With the latter all parts within a "component area" will be covered. EG, "all engine parts" is easy to understand. With your roof example where will you be arguing that this falls under? They will say something like "this is a body component and we don't state cover applies for this component area".
