For how long, Marc? I seem to remember previous posts saying that Honda offered extended warranties for 1, 2 or 3 years.
The devil is in the detail - have a look to see what is excluded. That will determine whether it's worthwhile or not. I seem to remember that the conclusion last time as that they weren't bad value, although the prices quoted to different people had varied quite dramatically, so it may be worthwhile phoning around 2-3 other dealers to get comparison prices.

Its for mechanical and electrical failure, Full AA euro cover and vehicle replacement. Its 1 years cover. I am not looking for something to cover every feasible defect just any major failures. i.e. gearbox, clutch, engine, rear wheels falling off etc etc

Honestly
Two reasons:
1. don't want to spend that much on a car, would rather spend less on the car and more on other stuff. mods, insurance, tyres, extended warranties etc etc
2. From my experiences I prefer the pre-02 cars anyway, 'the original and the best' (for me)
I've said it before and I will say it again, I now own a car that I can't see me ever wanting to change
