cheers for the advice, the invidia noise wise is what I'm looking for although in that vid it sounded abit too much like one that gets fitted to nova's and civics!

I know I need to listen to one in the flesh but is that an accurate description of it or is just that video that sounds like that.

On the HKS front which is better the hiper or silent and do they still do both?

cheers

Andy

i doubt any exhaust will show noticeable gains. call me pessimistic .
but they all sound better than that stock shyte . and look better too. someone was selling a single exit on here recently.

HKS Silent Hi Power I have is very nice sounding. not too obtrusive and if the drone bothers and you don't care about pollution you can fit a decat.

The Invidia is very loud.

If its a single, Spoon or J's Racing

Less weight, bit more power, LOUD.

Mugen is a good one if you want a bit more noise and the weight loss, but not great for power and some find it too quiet.

Next step up the noise scale is the HKS - not good for power. After that you're into Invidia territory and single exits.

I am very happy with my HKS Hi power silent. I think it sounds right for the car. Not too loud, but great especially in VTEC

You really do need to hear a few of them in person before deciding.

I think they still do both.

The silent is made of stainless steel and is therefore going to last longer than the hiper, which is mild steel but the hiper sounds so much better than the silent.

I think the Hiper is also quite a bit cheaper.

You won't get any power gains from an HKS.

To compliment a PRM I would bolt some drainpipe on the end to refelct its quality

You might find most exhausts drown out the intake noise. I went back to stock exhaust for this reason, as I prefer intake noise.

I used to have a PRM and HKS (proper one) ..... I miss the sound

THe HKS gives you noise low down whereas the PRM gets noisy after VTEC.
