Default Exhaust Tip Rubber

Strange title, but has anyone noticed the bits of rubber where the exhaust cut-outs are? I think this stops some rattles from the exhaust, but one one side the rubber is missing. Does anyone know a part number for it or what its called?

Cheers

No, they mean the plastic fillet on the bumper above the offside tailpipe.
I recall asking the same thing years ago.
The general answer was its a rubing strip as under massive torsion the engine twists and so does the exhaust with it.
I guess it's in case it touches the bumper?

There is only one on the offside, you haven't lost anything

If that is the the case why is there not one on each exhaust exit
I think it is a damper/stiffener to stop the bumper resonating when travelling fast. The rear bumper is like a dead ended air scoop at high speed
Anyway - took mine off a while ago when I had the bumper resprayed.
Not had any problems though

Because it will only ever twist one way?

Hmm that's interesting about the rear bumper being restrictive at high speed, has anyone fitted a diffuser to help out?

Diffuser should in theory help stop the back bumper ballooning outwards under high wind resistance at speed just how much and whether it is worth it is another matter though!

A diffuser wont do much unless the rest of the underside is flat.
They accelerate smooth air out of the back to reduce pressure under the car.
Pointless really unless you address all the other draggy bits underneath, like all of it
Air being slowed under the car by sticky out bits just makes it slower relative to the air passing over the roof.
The larger the differential- the larger the lift.

As for the exhaust bit - Im just regurgitating what others told me.
As spies says, the engine and pipes only torque twist one way.
Its a big enough deal for J's Racing to make and engine damper though

As above, it will ballon due to the high pressure component under the car.
It's not like blowing into a balloon, more like an aircraft wing
