Default Exhaust System

Is the exhaust system, from the cat back, the same on all year models.
My reason for asking is that the oval tail pipe trim of the later cars has a bracket for fixing the trim.
Do the earlier cars have the same bracket for the round trims.
Anyone got the correct answer please ??

you mean the oval trim pieces can detach?
round trim also come off and is held on with a single completely rusted bolt

i'd day the trim atleast is interchangable, but without measuring i cant be 100%.

Yes.

Sorry Hardtop, I don't know the answer to your question.

definately looks slightly different as my JDM securing bolts arent directly downwards (one down, one at 11oclock) - they clamp directly to the exhaust tip rather than the bracket you see on the latter.

by the LOOK of the mounting method on the oval trim, it will fit a round trim model, just without the use of bracket on the exhaust system side.

i think that makes sense!

Thanks for the info guys.
Yes, my trims unscrew .............surprise, surprise to me also.
The reason for the question in the first instance was that there was a brand new system from an ex Honda dealer for £150 on ebay which if it is interchangeable with my car (2005) would be a bargain to have in the garage "just in case".

one thing i do know is the earlier models pipes are slightly longer, if you want to put oval tips on you have to saw a slight length off of the end. might be worth looking into first with someone who knows a bit more
