Default Exhaust recommendations

Evening all,

Been reading and lurking or a while but the ever present tin-worm has reared it's head and forced me into action.

I have a AP2 that spent it's early life in Scotland, from the reg, so it seems that underside rust has got a bit of a head start. I had to remove my failed cat with an angle grinder recently...

Anyway, in Honda's infinite wisdom they fit a stainless exhaust system mounted with regular old soluble steel hangers welded to it. One of those has lost the will to live and one silencer is suffering from a bit of droop. I've bodged it up for now and I could probably come up with a longer term bodge, but I'm wondering if it's worth swapping the whole thing.

There's plenty of options it seems but I'd be looking for some combination of:
  1. Not crazy expensive (I'd expect and OEM cat-back from Honda would be pretty pricey)
  2. Not chavtastically loud. The T1R Dual Sparrow sounded ideal to my ears but they don't seem to be available any more or in the UK... brings me to...
  3. Available in the UK.
  4. Not particularly performance enhancing. No need for mad gainz bro... Insurance is expensive enough as it is.
  5. Known to fit OK on the original hangers. I don't mind giving it a go on the driveway. I mostly didn't drop it on my face last time...

So, any recommendations? Youtube auditions for look and loudness appreciated.

Exhaust mod isn't going to fix his loose silencer is it?

Someone selling an HKS system in the FS section.

What does available in UK mean? You want another middle hand that brings the price further up?
The T1R system sounds great and with a decat there is almost zero drone, they are pretty pricey though.
A second hand oem system and the exhaust mod should be pretty cheap and maybe enough for you.

At least stocked in the UK (if it's not made in the UK...) so I don't have to faff about with import duties. I guess that's passed on in the price though.

Has anyone actually sourced an S2000 T1R Dual recently?

Been looking in flea-bay for potential second hand AP2 exhausts that haven't rotted too much. Slim pickings so far. You'd think with all the aftermarket exhausts about there would be some upgrade residue... If I could find one and could find a friendly welder then the UK mod would probably be on the cards.

HKS seems a popular choice. I'll have a shufty. Cheers.

Quieter ones are as follows:

HKS Silent Hi-Power as the standard one is made from 409.

Buddyclub SpecIV if you don't mind a single exit.

Fujitsubo Legalis-R

Mugen Sport Exhaust

The BuddyClub would be the cheapest out of those, HKS does come up from time to time second hand on here, Mugen is very rare and I can't say I've ever seen anyone in the UK with a Legalis-R.

All are available through Hond-R in Oxford.

HTH

EDIT: Forgot about Blueflame as well, they're nice and quiet as well as very reasonably priced.

Do they sound decent on the S2000?

I had one on an EK9 years ago and it sounded awful :/ Very well priced though

Best exhaust I've used is a Fujitsubo RM01A (on a S15).
