Just been out for a drive for the first time since fitting the modified exhaust, 37mm ID (40mm OD) pipe. I have to say, it's not as loud as I was expecting\hoping. There is a small change in note, but not much. It seems louder when standing behind the car and revving it. Perhaps the K&N drowns the noise out once under load.... a little disappointed though. With the roof up, I'd never have known anything had changed. If anyone is concerned about going for 37\38mm, don't be, it's very subtle.

Decat next I think....

My S is in for its 54k service tomorrow at Performance tek in Glasgow, getting the 38mm mod done at the same time. Can't wait!

I've just done mine with 27mm internal pipe (didn't have any bigger to hand :/ )
I have to say the new sound is sexy!! Wish I'd done it when i first got the car 3 years ago.

SCZ4 - I'd be interested in your opinion if you end up with a Decat, I found it embarrassingly Nova-fartcan-like!

I definitely want to avoid that, it's why I was so hesitant about 37mm, but took the risk and turns out I had nothing to worry about. May try the sports cats from Dixon.

Yes, mine's great with the exhaust mod (32mm id) and a standard cat.

It was when I combined it with a decat that things went a bit poop, so just thought I'd mention my experience. My next step is to try a high flow sports cat and see how that sounds.

Keep us posted

1. 38mm only
2. 38mm and k&n
3. no mufflers
4. 44mm and open intake lid
Hay.
The video was excellent gave me a bit more to think about, I won't be adding k&n but I would like either the 32mm or 44mm
Not sure which either.
Do you need to tell your insurance that you did it?
I know my car def needs some sound but I will not change the exhaust to another one but this mod looks excellent.

What do most people do 32 or 44

Cheers
