Ray does this as a favour with discounted club rates, so people, please dont take the biscuit with him

as for other garages, then anything over £80 is simply extortion. I showed my exhaust mod to my local MOT garage and they quoted £80 max for the same job. He's normally expensive for most things and I would never use him for such a job.

So its quite shocking to hear people paying over £100 to have it done

I suppose everybody is entitled to their own opinion

However , when I had mine done I watched them do it and , bearing in mind I removed the exhaust myself and took it to them , it still took 2 hour's !

I watched them cut , shape and fit 2 bit's of stainless steel pipe to fit .

I watched them cut and shape and smooth 4 hole's in the original exhaust and it took an hour for 2 people to weld in !

Ray must be a great bloke to do all this for cost and if I was closer I'd have been to him like a shot

In my opinion £100 to supply , fabricate and weld 2 stainless steel link pipe's into an exhaust is pretty reasonable especially down here in the SE where everything seem's to be much more expensive than elsewhere

Big thanks to ray for doing mine today. Took longer than I thought it would for the money. Also seem to be clunk free ATM too.

Update for info' on 30mm MOD+DECAT

I've been loving my 30mm exhaust mod for quite a few months so decided to get a Decat fitted.

Unfortunately with the test-pipe it's now gone way too noisy/raspy, startup & around the 3k mark.

I have to change up before 3k otherwise it sounds bugle(y) like a boy racer in a Nova (see told you I was old) with a baked bean can exhaust.
Ahem, I told you so, did Raymondo sell you my old Berk? Lol
Nothing like a hand-me-down Wayne!

The weird thing is though that from 7k on it sounds bloody amazing, like the howl of a banshee (whatever that means?). Looks like MSC is actually right about something!

We need a reliable way of recording exhaust noise don't we though, it's so difficult to explain sound as it's very subjective.

It sounds immense, it's in Ferrari terrority! I can even live with the bubstep fart can chav 3k parp

Well said. Too many bloody Ebayers on these forums expecting work done for nowt. Ray is S2k member linked so he's a one off giving a fantastic deal. What you paid was fair for that custom exhaust fabrication work in the South East.

Personally I think £100 is very reasonable. It's a good 2 hours work any day. You are paying for specialists here, welding is not easy especially on such thin tube.

Hey Sharksfinn

Did you get yours done yet? Which place did you opt for?

I'm off to Zero Exhausts on Saturday so will let you know how it goes if you've not done yours yet.

He only had 28 and 38mm pipe in stock but as I said there could be more interested he's got some 32mm in for me.

Looking forward to the new sound.

just had my exhaust mod done. went for 32mm and love it. didn't think it had made any difference at first so i pulled over, put the airbox lid back on, dropped the roof and then floored it. F+uck me i nearly wet myself. Sounds awesome.

I had mine done bear Brackley by an exhaust builder, Steve Hall and he says he is well up to do more. only snag is he shares a ramp so might be a bit hit and miss to get it done. Steve's numbe is 07805 117656. And he's very reasonable on price:~)

Got mine done on Saturday.

The guy couldn't get 32mm pipe for some reason so ended up with 35mm. Like Ratty above I didn't notice any significant difference when I started the engine or when i revved it. It wasn't until driving and getting into VTECH I noticed it. (to be fair I did have the roof up) It's quite a subtle difference most of the time and with the roof up you'd hardly notice it at all, then when you get into VTECH......finally it sounds like it should have originally!! Now need a nice clear day to get the roof off and drive through some tunnels
